Summertime!!

Hope you are all enjoying your summer break as much as I am. If you are wondering what teachers do on their summer break well let me tell you...we work! That's right we start planning for a new year, new students, new ideas, new start...new, new, new! And with that being said I decided to start working on a NEW PROJECT!! I am so excited about it. I am going to post all about it below. If you want to know more about it just click below and you will find out. It is something that will benefit all of us, but I need help from moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, and so on to make it happen. So hit them all up and lets have a wonderful first grade year! Can't wait to see you all soon!

Welcome December....

and boy are we gonna be busy!! We will be starting our play practice Monday December 1st. Our class will perform on Thursday December 11th at 7 pm. Our class shirts have come in and I will be picking them up tomorrow, but I will be holding on to them until after our Christmas play. I just want to make sure everyone has their's for the night of the BIG performance!!

Our class has also "adopted" a child for Christmas!! This is something that I like to do each year with my firsties!! Often my kiddos get caught up in the idea of Christmas being all about what they "get", but I love to teach them that Christmas is a time for giving, especially to others in need. There will be information coming home to you tomorrow about this child. Please know that the child we "adopted" is close to my heart, and is truly a need child. She is eight years old and a great child. She is an amazing little girl!! If you have any questions or concerns about this please let me know and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge!! I am looking so forward to making her Christmas extra special!

Finally, we are going to be having a great time our last 3 days of school before winter break. I will also be sending home information about this tomorrow as well. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this, too. I am going to need parents to help on Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18th. If you think you can please let me know ASAP!!

November already????

Can you believe we are in November already?? Where has the time gone!?!
Thank you to all of my amazing parents who were able to make it in and meet with me for parent conferences. If you weren't able to make it in and would like to conference by phone just let me know and I would be happy to do so.

Thank you also to everyone that has sent in snack so far this year! The children really look forward to snack Fridays! If you are ever assigned a Friday and it is going to be difficult for you, just drop me a note and we can reschedule your day.

The Thanksgiving Holiday is fast approaching and with that being said I would like to invite our parents to eat in the cafeteria with us on Thursday, November 20th  at 11:00.  We will be having our Thanksgiving lunch that day served by our lunchroom staff. If you would like to join us just let me know so we save room at the table for you :)

Also, we are performing the JBE Christmas play this year on December 11th I believe. We will be performing at the WHS auditorium. We will begin practice for the play when we return from our Thanksgiving Break on Monday, December 1st. This is going to be something you will not want to miss!!
